The first game on cricket in India was played almost 152 years ago. it's impossible to live in India and not get affected by the love-wave of cricket. When our team wins a big event the whole country starts celebrating it like a festival.

1. Alec Stewart was born on, 8th April 1963 and he scored 8463 Test runs.

    The numbers of runs one can score is not fixed and cannot be determined but in the case of Alec Stewart it was written in the books of God. He scored the same number of runs in Test as his birth date.

2. Highest runs scored in an over is not 36. it's 77.

    In 1990, a match between Canterbury and Christchurch of shell Trophy in New Zealand's Wellington RH Vance gave 77 runs in a single over. Full toss, no balls and many weird deliveries were bowled by Vance. and over went like this - 0 4 4 4 6 6 4 6 1 4 1 0 6 6 6 6 6 0 0 4 0 1.

3. Adam Gilchrist holds record for playing the most numbers of tests matches from debut without been dropped.

    Adam Gilchrist played 96 matches from 5th November 1999 to 24th January 2008 without dropped.

4. Indian spinner Bapu Nadkarni bowled 21 consecutive maiden overs against England at Chennai.

    Nadkarni achieved this feat on 12th January 1964. his bowling figures were 32-27-5-0 with economy rate of 0.15.

5. Sachin Tendulkar played for Pakistan before making his international debut for India.

    He was just a 13 year old boy when he made his international debut as a fielder. this happened during a practice match between India and Pakistan at Brabourne Stadium in 1987 where Tendulkar came on the field as a substitute fielder for Pakistan.

6. Wilfred Rhodes of England has picked 4204 wickets and has also scored 39969 runs in his first class career.

7. The only law which has not changed in cricket history is the length of the pitch.

    Pitch is always a rectangular area of 22 yards (20.12m). 

8. In a test match between South Africa and West Indies at Centurion, all 11 players of South Africa were jointly named Man of the Match.

9. Jonty Rhodes is the only player to receive man of the match award playing as a substitute played.

    It happened while Rhodes was playing a school level match and was not included in playing 11. he went as a substitute fielder and took 7 catches.

10. Shahid Afridi used Sachin Tendulkar's bat to hit 37 ball century in an ODI.

     During a match in 1996 young Afridi didn't have a proper bat during a match. that's why Waqar Younis gave Sachin Tendulkar's bat to Afridi. and a history was made that day, Afridi hit 11 sixes and 6 boundaries scoring a 37 ball century aganist Sri Lanka which is third fastest century at present.
